What is R2V3 certification?

R2v3 (Responsible Recycling version 3) is a globally recognized certification standard for electronics recyclers, developed by SERI (Sustainable Electronics Recycling International). R2v3 certifies recycling facilities — not individual products — ensuring they meet rigorous standards for environmental responsibility, data security, and worker safety. Equipment processed by certified facilities is graded across two dimensions: Functional (F1–F6) and Cosmetic (C1–C9).

What does F6 mean?

F6 designates Like New (R2V3 Appendix C — Test and Repair). All functions have been tested and verified working through software tests. The device has been repaired with OEM original parts and loaded and configured with original manufacturer's legally licensed software for full operation. It meets OEM specifications for full original functionality. Electronic test results are available. Zero defects. Data has been sanitized or the device is free of data storage media.
